Director-General's Address
I have been a public servant of health for several years. It is such a great honor for me to be in charge of the health affairs of Kaohsiung City. I will strive my very best to unite both public and private sectors, and lead the department of health to fulfill the expectation of the citizens.
Today the so-called “Health” is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Under the structure of four stages and seven levels of public health, we would create an excellent disease prevention system, complete the resources of long-term care, extend the pediatricians and geriatricians shared-care facilities, strengthen the health care network of communities, construct an environment of food and drug safety and promote international cooperation to reach the goal of holistic health promotion! We would also integrate the local medical resources to develop international medicine, medical tourism, and international medical aid. By linking the medical resources with tourism marketing, we can promote the development of related industries in Kaohsiung. The policy implementation requires the participation of citizens. Periodically cleaning out the mosquito breeding sources is crucial for the elimination of dengue fever. We would pull out all the stops to build a better-living Kaohsiung City.
We would take the health and happiness of the citizens as the first priority, and do our best to construct a health care system with integrity and continuity to fulfill the expectation of the citizens.
