Since the weather is gradually getting colder, and the warm hot pot is one of the favorite choices for the Chinese people. For the health and safety of eating hot pot, the department of health has taken action to test 188 pieces of hot pot ingredients sold in supermarkets and hot pot restaurants. Three items does not conform to the regulations, and the failure rate is 1.6%.
This time, we tested 69 hot pot ingredients (including fish dumplings, egg dumplings, fish balls, etc.), 79 poultry and aquatic products and 40 fruits and vegetables. We tested preservatives, fungicides, bleaches, animal drugs and residual allowance of pesticide chemical in food. Test results show 1 piece of tofu was detected benzoic acid 0.111g / kg (limited standard: not detected), 2 pieces of vegetables (including beans, red pepper, 1 each) were detected pesticide residues. The department of health had requested the sellers to take down the items and trace the source of vegetables. As for the tofu, the source was not available, so the seller had been fined according to the Food Safety and Health Management Law.
The department of health also appealed to choose merchants with good reputation, and select the complete packaged and clearly marked goods. The hot pot ingredients should be thoroughly cooked, the fruits and vegetables should be cleaned with clear water, the fresh ingredients should be kept at low temperature, and wash your hands before eating to ensure your health. In addition, the ingredients and drinks that are often used in hot pots are easy to ingest too much calories. Please take appropriate and balanced diet. The above inspection results can be found on the website of the Department of Health, Kaohsiung City(http://khd.kcg.gov.tw/).
